At Mackoy we often talk about the groundworks contracts major house builders have awarded us across the South of England. So there's no confusion when it comes to our operatives' roles and responsibilities on site. Well at least that's the idea.

Whether you call it a groundworks package or a groundworks contract is indifferent. The two things are very much one and the same. So when a house builder comes to us and invites us to tender for a job (as they so often do) we can come up with an accurate estimate for the plant, manpower, and time it will take to turn the work around.

We should add that when we say 'turn a job around' we don't just mean get it done. Oh no. Completing a groundworks contract for us means doing it right. Even if it calls for painstakingly cross checking site plans and chalk markings for a 5th time. No excavator is going anywhere near earth under our watch until we're 100% satisfied that every corner peg is in its rightful place.

We can make these claims with confidence because we've cultivated a strong resource of skilled groundworks operatives around the worksites we service whom, like us, believe a job isn't worth doing if you don't do it right. So as well as being able to easily assign resource to the groundworks contracts we win we can also award jobs within the local area too. Drawing on our own talent pool of skilled labour within the south coast region, which stands at 300 experienced groundworks operatives and growing.

Our in-house resource also extends to our plant and vehicle fleet too, which together total more than 150 high spec, high powered, and high value machines. We never skimp where our plant is concerned, always purchasing directly from the manufacturers and regularly adding new models to our fleet. Which today includes a range of haulage HGVs, closed-cab dumper trucks, road rollers and powerful compact excavators.

From earthworks, cut & fill and muckaway, to beam & block flooring, foundations, sewer works, retaining walls, drainage, and surfacing for roads, car parks and driveways. Basically the entire groundworks infrastructure needed on a new residential development.
