When we throw a challenge out to our groundwork’s team, boy do they rise to it. And our monthly quality photo competition is no exception.
We received a flood of entries for July, all showing off quality workmanship undertaken on our client’s builds across the South of England. And if our hearts weren’t warmed enough by the July heat, they certainly were when we reviewed the images our groundworkers were sending in.
We had something just shy of 100 pictures all in all. Each one documenting why Mackoy groundworkers are the best at what they do. And while we genuinely would love to reward each and every entry with a prize, it wouldn’t be much of a competition if we did.
So, even though it was hard work (something we never shy away from at Mackoy) we eventually managed to whittle down the War & Piece size stack of photographs to just a final three winners.
First to claim their £100 prize is Sam Bowers, who sent us in this great pic of a new road going in at North Stoneham Park in Eastleigh, where we’re completing a groundworks contract for Highwood.
Sam’s excellent pic also captures our new 360 and roller livery – as well as three of our Mackoy groundworks operatives kitted out in their PPE finest. We’ll turn a blind eye to the fact that one of the group appears to be sitting down, and chalk it up to them clearly getting a closer look at the newly installed Kerb instead. At any rate Sam, a top pic and your £100 prize is on its way to you.
Our second winning image for July comes courtesy of Andrew Brewer who submitted this site photo showing internal drainage and tidy sub-structures. While we can appreciate that to the untrained eye it might not look like anything special trust us when we say Andrew’s picture brilliantly captures a great job, executed to exacting standards. A brilliant bit of our quality handiwork from our groundworks team on the ground.
Last, but not least, our final photography winner for July is another Andy on our groundworks team, our Foreman Andy Stickland. Who captured this cracker of an image showing our new closed-cab Hydrema dumpers undertaking earthworks on site for Bellway in Emsworth. These new compact dumpers joined our Mackoy plant just this summer, alongside 20 new Hendy Ford Transits, and our Volvo Crawler Excavators. And they’ve already proven to be a valuable new addition to our excavation toolkit. Helping us complete earthworks contracts more efficiently and safely than ever before.
As well as capturing the dumpers in action with his winning picture, Andy’s also been keeping the new machines brilliantly clean each day by washing off the dust after use. So thanks go out to Andy, both for a great quality image, and also for looking after the new plant so thoughtfully. Just as with Sam Bowers and Andrew Brewer, £100 is winging its way to you.
A big thanks to everyone on our groundworks gangs that emailed in a quality picture for consideration during July. We really do review every image we receive, and it’s always a tough job whittling down all the great entries to just a few winners.
Please do keep sending your photos our way, even if you entered and didn’t win this time. We choose a fresh round of winners every month, who like Andy, Andrew and Sam are rewarded with a £100 prize. So email us at quality@mackoy.co.uk if you have an image that captures the Mackoy quality workmanship you’ve produced on site for us.
