In fact, in the seven years since our owner Mike Mayock founded Mackoy we’ve grown our plant fleet to over 100 vehicles and doubled our initial head count over twenty times. We’re now one of the largest civil engineering and groundworks companies operating in the South of England. But we never rest on our laurels. We’re constantly investing into new initiatives and new equipment. Keeping up to date with the latest innovations. And ensuring our team always has the best tools for the job.

This year alone we’ve expanded our on site toolkit to include Air Picks, a much more efficient, precise and effective way to excavate, particularly around utility lines. Plus we’re adding 25+ excavators to our fleet, as well as two new compact Hydrema dumper trucks. Which have a fully enclosed cab to help safeguard against injury and fatalities on site. The comfort, safety and wellbeing of our groundworkers, as well as our clients’ site staff, is our upmost priority. Which is why alongside our investment into infrastructure, we also ensure we invest in our people too.

We’re constantly coming up with new ways to reward the hard work our engineers and groundworkers put in our builds. This year launching our Site Manager and Site of the Month Awards, which recognise outstanding commitment to quality within our team. We also champion industry best practice. Which is why every Mackoy site worker holds a valid CSCS card, and gets given the very latest industry training, as well as a full induction when they first join our team.

And because the bond you develop as co-workers on our sites is integral to Mackoy culture, we also pair up each of our new employees with an experienced member of our core site staff. So they can learn the ropes with a trained operative by their side.
